Oh yes, fig jam is lovely. If I have enough figs I make jam but if we have a late heavy frost, I have lots of figs but they don’t get ripe in time.

Had a fig tree in San Diego, long ago, only 5 or 6 a yr??? made me wonder where ‘fig newtons’ came from 😉

Fig trees normally give loads of figs, in hot countries like Spain and Italy they give 3 harvests a year, the first harvest starts growing before Christmas but in a very cold Winter most of them don’t survive, the second harvest is now, and the 3rd is in a month or so but they never ripen here in Belgium.

Believe it or not, I’ve never had a fig! Nor would I have known what that was! Shame on me!

No ???Are they not for sale in your supermarket ? I think they are pretty tasteful when they are fresh and ripe, the dried ones I am not so fond of.
