A SHORT VACATION(1)

We went away on a short vacation to England and Scotland. I have been in London once for an exhibition in the Tate Gallery some years ago but I never visited England and Scotland before. We used the ferryboat, also a first time experience, and we had a lovely vacation.

We started in Hull and drove to Windermere where we had a boat trip on the lake, and we were not alone…..there were masses and masses of tourists but of course it is the middle of the holiday season here in Europe.

But enough said, here are the pictures.

ANOTHER VISIT TO THE ARBORETUM

Now that we have a membership card for the Arboretum we can go as often as we want to, so we went again last week.

WHAT IS FLOWERING IN MY GARDEN

After a long time of dry and hot weather we finally get some much needed rain for nature. I had my hands full with watering the garden and all my plants in pots. I planted many new plants and shrubs in the garden so they needed extra care and I used large umbrella’s to protect my plants as the heath was burning the leafs and the flowers. But so far I kept them all alive.

HERE YOU CAN SEE MY YELLOW CANNA’S, BEHIND THE CANNA’S YOU CAN SEE A FUCHSIA BUSH, ON THE RIGHT YOU CAN SEE VERONICA VIGINICUM AND ON THE LEFT A BUTTERFLY BUSH

TOO MUCH TO NAME THEM ALL, IN THE BLUE POT YOU CAN SEE A MINI PETUNIA AND THE PLANT IN THE TERRACOTTA POT IS AN AEONIUM, THEY ARE ALL BAKING IN THE SUN

AND ANOTHER VIEW IN THE MIRROR, THE FENCE IS STILL NEW, WHERE THE FENCE IS WE USED TO HAVE A HUGE CONIFER HEDGE BUT OUR NEW NEIGHBOURS WANTED A FENCE AS ON THEIR SIDE THE CONIFERS WERE BROWN, I AM NOT REALLY HAPPY WITH THE FENCE BUT I HOPE THAT IN A FEW YEARS TIME IT WILL BE COVERED IN PLANTS

A FEW SCCULENTS IN A POT, ON THE RIGHT IS AN AUCUBA JAPONICA, ON THE GOUND YOU CAN SEE GERANIUM MACRORHIZUM AND A FEW SMALL DWARF RHODODENDRONS, ON THE LEFT IS A BIG POT WITH A HOSTA IN THAT IS ABOUT TO FLOWER, THERE IS A SMALL LEAFED IVY GOWING AGAINST THE FENCE, HOPING IT WILL COVER THE FENCE REALLY SOON
