This one is not about flowers but about vacation. We spend a day on a boat in a natural park in Holland, called THE BIESBOSCH with lots of creeks and sweet water, not salt water.
There is so much water all over Holland (the netherlands) that almost every family here has one or more boats.
A FAMILY OUTING
ALL SORTS OF BOATS AS YOU CAN SEE
Alas it was too hot for most animals and all we could see were some gull’s and ducks and a few swann’s.
We enjoyed the cooler wind on the water and watching all the other boats.
Have a great week all and thanks for visiting !
ECHINOPS RITRO (globe flower)
MIRABILIS JALAPA ( 4 o’clock flower)
I love the color yellow as it is a merry color and it reminds me of the sun, even on a grey day, yellow brings a bit of sun in your life so I love to use yellow in my home and in my garden. Mind you, at the moment we have a heath wave and plenty of sun and my garden is begging for cooler weather and rain, lots of rain!
Here are a few pictures of the yellows in my garden.
YELLOW POND IRIS (iris sibirica)
ROSA THE PILGRIM
TAGETES (we call them stinkies cos of their specific smell)
THE HEART OF A BEGONIA FLOWER
Have a great sunny weekend !
REMEMBER THIS PICTURE ? TAKEN 23 RD OF JUNE 2018
THIS PICTURE WAS TAKEN ON JULY 1ST
THIS PICTURE WAS TAKEN THIS MORNING JULY 17 TH !!
I must add that he is getting a lot of sun as we are having a long hot and dry Summer and hardly any rain, ideal for a cactus.
Yesterday we had a bit of rain, not nearly enough to help end the drought we suffer from at the moment. But I am happy with every drop that we get. We are not used to this kind of tropical temperatures , neither are the gardens over here so the gardens are suffering, a lot of leafs and flowers are burned from the sun.
Have a great day all and thanks for visiting !
ANEMONE HUPEHENSIS SEPTEMBER CHARM
I have no words to describe the beauty of the begonia, they are considered “old fashioned” at the moment but it is such an easy plant, a beautiful plant with beautiful leafs and all sorts of different shapes and colors of flowers. What is NOT to like ??? They love a shady place but they can stand a bit of sun too if they get enough water. They grow from bulbs, you keep the bulbs dry and frost free during winter and you plant them again in Spring (inside until the frosts have gone), year after year after year. I know an old lady who said she had her begonia bulbs for over 50 years !!!!
I took some pictures for you so you can see for yourselves.
And these are just a small choice of all the hundreds that exist.
Have a great weekend !!
