FINALLY MY FIRST CANNA FLOWER

CANNA

As we had a long and cold Winter and a late Spring I was late in planting my Summer bulbs so my bulb blooms are late as well. Well that’s nature for you, it never does what you expect it would do. But the fun of seeing a first bloom is always exciting for me. And yellow flowers always make me feel the sun is shining even on a gray day.

Have a great day !

A PEEK IN MY GARDEN

Things You Shouldn’t Keep In the Fridge

This might be interesting for you.

Julie Hore's avatarJulie's Green Journal

My fridge broke down and died today, luckily there wasn’t much in it and all that was lost was some cheese which went to feed the birds. This made me ponder about our reliance on fridges and what things people often keep in the fridge that would be much better out of it, so here is a quick guide, I am sure you will think of lots of other things as well.

OnionsPlacing your onions inside your refrigerator will eventually end up turning them moldy and soft. Unpeeled onions should be kept out of plastic bags and fridge. One of the reasons for this is because unpeeled onions require and need air exposure for maximum life. If you have peeled an onion though, then you should keep it in the fridge, in a covered container.
Aged CheeseMost people think that because cheese is mostly made of milk, it…

What is not to like about this beauty ?! This is an easy climber for a big space as she grows about 6 meters (20 feet) in one season, so I cut it back in Spring. The only disadvantage is that it looks death in Winter, but then come Spring , from the “dead” stems new shoots emmerge and they grow fast, really fast and at the same time the buds emmerge and then it blooms untill the first frosts.

Have a great day all !

MEANWHILE IN THE GREENHOUSE

I don’t know why but everything is growing like mad this year, in the garden and in the greenhouse. The only disadvantage are the snails, never had so many!!!

Here are some pictures of the greenhouse.

SNACK TOMATOES

GRAPES, they will be dark blue when  ripe, they look a bit odd but that is cos you don’t have to cut the excess grapes yourself, this grape loses the excess grapes it self (does anyone know what the english word is for this ?)

There are other things growing in my greenhouse as well but that will be for another time.

Have a great day and thanks for visiting !
