A SIGN OF AUTUMN COMMING CLOSER

When the flowers of the sedum spectabile are opening it is a sign of Autumn  comming closer. The days are definitely shorter, the evenings colder but after the crazy hot Summer we had I am welcomming Autumn for once, normally I am not so keen. The garden is a mess with burned plants and leafs but the sedum spectabile is looking good, ofcourse being a succulent it loves warm dry weather. And this plant is a heaven for bees and butterflies.

MY POOR GARDEN

My poor garden, burned to a crisp !!! We had such hot weather lately, up to 38 C°, and a lot of my plants are burned. And as we have a severe water shortage as well we can’t water the garden. It breaks my heart to look at it ! It looks like Autumn even though it is only the beginning of August !!

As of next wednesday they expect thunderstorms but not everyone will get rain…

Does any of you know how to perform a raindance ??

Have a great weekend.

YELLOW, THE COLOR OF THE SUN

I love the color yellow as it is a merry color and it reminds me of the sun, even on a grey day, yellow brings a bit of sun in your life so I love to use yellow in my home and in my garden. Mind you, at the moment we have a heath wave and plenty of sun and my garden is begging for cooler weather and rain, lots of rain!

Here are a few pictures of the yellows in my garden.

THIS PICTURE WAS TAKEN THIS MORNING JULY 17 TH !!

I must add that he is getting a lot of sun as we are having a long hot and dry Summer and hardly any rain, ideal for a cactus.

Yesterday we had a bit of rain, not nearly enough to help end the drought we suffer from at the moment. But I am happy with every drop that we get. We are not used to this kind of tropical temperatures , neither are the gardens over here so the gardens are suffering, a lot of leafs and flowers are burned from the sun.

Have a great day all and thanks for visiting !
