SILENT SUNDAY

about my garden, art and travelling, nature ,photography and a few words of wisdom

I think these little violets are super cute. Now that most of the succulents are no longer in bloom, the violets came up to give my pots a bit of color. The violets disseminated all over the garden, but mostly in my pots with succulents.
Have a great weekend and enjoy your garden if you can.
The figs are ripening, not all at once but everyday a few. It looks like a good fig-year, last year I had very few figs as we had a couple of late frosts. Normally a fig gives 3 harvests a year in hot countries with long Summers but here in the North of Europe just the first harvest gets ripe, that is when the first lot doesn’t freeze off in early Spring. Tiny figs appear in Autumn so when we get severe frosts in Winter or early in Spring the first harvest is gone. The tree gets figs but they don’t get ripe enough over here.
They taste lovely with a bit of dried ham or with a bit of cream cheese, or both ! Or you can make jam, just fig jam or combined with one or two other fruits.

Did any of you grow fruit in the garden this year?
I hope you are all doing okay !!

Our Summer is not very hot so far so everything is a bit later than usual. We get a lot of rain and rather cool temperatures but I’m not complaining. We do need all the rain we can get as we had several hot Summers in a row and there are not many reserves underground yet.
I hope you are all having a great time, enjoy your garden and take care !
Have a great week !

My favorite geranium is geranium Rozanne, when you look at the picture above you’ll probably know why, it’s the colour I LOVE !! And it is just such an easy plant, on top of it it blooms for a long time.
I hope you are all happy and healthy. Take care and have a great week.

I think I just love dahlia’s, I don’t understand why some people say they are old fashioned. And they are sooooo easy to grow !!
Have a great day !
