CLEMATIS BUD

Today is about the houses and flowers. Most people there have flowers on their balcony’s or near the front door, as we were there in September many of them looked a bit tatty cos of the drought and the ban to use water. But nevertheless the houses still looked stunning.

HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND !!

Passionflower alias passiflora caerulea is a very easy climber but it selfseeds everywhere in the garden. The caerula is the most winterhardy of them all. The flower is so pretty, they only open for one day and then it starts making the fruit, after a while you get a yellow oval fruit, so you always have buds, flowers, green unripe fruit and yellow ripe fruit. I cut them back really hard each year as they can grow 6 meters long (19 feet) per season. But I love to have it in my garden.

This one is growing in an evergreen bush.
Have a great weekend all and thanks for your visit.
My Guirlande D’amour rose is in bloom and my whole garden smells of roses at the moment. Guirlande D’amour is a rambler rose, half double, snow white and has a lovely delicate smell. I have this rose in my garden for about 20 years now and she is beautifull when in bloom. I give it a cut in Autumn, just the longest branches and then in Spring it gets a good cut and a bit of dried cow manure, thats it. It keeps blooming till the frosts come, not as much as it blooms in June though.

You can’t see anything of the wooden bow as it is completely covered by the rose. This rose is also the favorite place for birds to make their nest in and for the bees of course, they just love it. And so do I.
Have a great day and thanks for your visit.

THIS IS THE PASSIFLORA CAERULEA
