HELLO AGAIN

Sorry for the long silence but I haven’t been able to take a lot of new photo’s, it’s not really a good garden year cos of the weather, it was either too hot or too wet, and all the heavy rain ruined a lot of my flowers. I do hope next year will be better. I am also trying to make the garden easier to maintain. I did manage to take a few new pictures though.

Garden geranium, one of my favorites

This hydrangea sits next to the pond, as you can see, some of the leafs are burned from the sun.

Crocosmia lucifer

Dipladenia, also called Mandevilla, a climber I got as a gift, it is in a pot as it is not winterhardy here but it performs well.

My passiflora caerulea performs well as the flowers stay open just for one day. there are new flowers all the time, it grows very fast. This one is one of the most winterhardy passionflowers.

This flower is from my albizia julibrissin, the flowers are normally pink but this one is white, I don’t know why.

I hope you al had a better Summer. Take care and enjoy your garden whenever you can.

GARDEN PICTURES

Here’s a peek in my garden, you can see how green everything is. The red flowers are crocosmia, also called montbretia. The picture of the red flowers under this text are a closer look at the crocosmia.

This is part of our front garden, I used to have more plants there but it was getting too much so we covered the front garden with small stones and a few very big ones. Now I have decorated it with a big pot of hardy fuchsia’s and I am going to plant rock garden plants to cover the small stones in time.

A few minutes later it was pouring with rain.

This is a parking we have in front of our house.

Same parking a few moments later.

Have a great week and take care ! Enjoy your garden whenever you can.

A FEW RECENT PICTURES

We still have no real summerweather, the temperatures are still going up and down and we still get rain quite often so most of the garden is still green, it’s beautiful but I miss my flowers. The roses had lots of flowers but the rain ruined them in no time. Some days are really hot and then it ends with a big bang and lots of rain and flooding all over Europe. But that is better than the countries who get bushfires and lots of people die cos of the horrible heath, sometimes even over 50C° !!

That said, here are just a few pictures I took this afternoon.

Crocosmia Lucifer, also called Montbretia with lots of buds.

Here the flowers are opening further.

This is my hydrangea, when you look close you can see that a lot of leafs have sunburn as the temperatures can vairy a lot from day to day.

Here you have a closer look at the hydrangea, butterfly included (lol)

This picture was made a few days earlier, one of my garden geraniums. Garden geraniums are always performing well, no matter the weather. They come in many colors and shapes and for me they are the best and easiest garden plants.

Another picture I took a few days ago is a picture of the cucumber herb, I just have them for their beautiful color and they are so easy to grow.

How is your Summer going ? And your garden ?

Take care !

JULY FLOWERS

We have a very odd Summer this year, cool and wet so I haven’t as many flowers as usually. Last year it was so hot I spent hours in front of the fan. This year we got airco and voila, we haven’t used it even once 😀 But hey, I am not complaining, I like this cooler weather.

SOON TO BE FLOWERING : CROCOSMIA LUCIFER (bright red)
CUCUMBER HERB.(borage)

I just love the blue flowers of this herb. The plant is not really prettty but the flowers are. And it attracts a lot of bee’s.

I hope you are all well and happy. Take care and thanks for visiting.

CROCOSMIA LUCIFER

To remind you that we will see flowers again soon.

Greetings to you all.

A FEW RECENT GARDEN PICTURES

My garden is suffering at the moment, it has been hot and dry for quite a while now, not a drop of rain and my garden is not used to this sort of weather, I water my garden once every 2 or 3 days for as long as we are alloud to do so, some provinces in my country already have heavy water restrictions. I managed to take a few pictures of plants who still look good. A lot of plants and bushes have scorched leafs and look tatty.
