OCTOBER IN PICTURES

THE SUN MAKES EVERYTHING MORE BEAUTIFUL IN OCTOBER.

LEAFLESS BUT STILL PRETTY IN THE SUN

Today is November the 5th, the weather has changed and we had a first light night frost, it is a lot colder during the day too. I wonder what Winter will bring weather wise as it is always a surprise now. When I was young, a long time ago, we knew what Winter would be like, it could be cold or horribly cold but never warm and sunny, never 20C° + on a Christmas day.

HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND, KEEP SAFE AND ENJOY YOUR GARDEN WHENEVER YOU CAN.

AT THE MOMENT IN MY GARDEN

I took a few pictures of how my garden looks at the moment, there is not a lot of beauty left but that is normal for October. The weekend was sunny and warm but now it is raining very hard. Not that I mind as we need this water for the garden.

I find it always sad to see all the flowers going, the leafs falling and most of the garden boring and brown but as you can see, the skimmia is already ready to flower in Spring, isn’t that amazing !!?

Have a great week and thanks for visiting.

IT’S DEFINITELY AUTUMN

Today is September 19th and we can feel, see and smell Autumn is here. Summer was cool and wet with here and there a few hot days. I have been taking pictures this month and you can see how nature is changing. Despite all the rain we had it is still dry but we live on sandy soil and it doesn’t keep water for long.

A WALK IN A NATURE PARK

A few days ago we had a warm and sunny afternoon and we went for a walk in a nearby nature reserve to take some pictures.

We didn’t see the cows but we know they are there, it is a big reserve. Alas we didn’t see any of the bigger animals, only birds and insects and lots of dung, really a lot !

Have a great weekend and thanks for visiting !

10 YEARS ????

I just got a message from WordPress to let me know that today is the day I have been blogging for 10 years.

The blog I have now is the third. The first and the second one are lost. I can still see what is written but I can’t add new posts due to codes I forgot to note down.

My first blog was called “gwenniesgarden”, the second was “gwenniesworld”, as I didn’t want to change the name drastically I named my 3rd blog “gwenniesgardenworld”, it’s not really creative, I know but I hoped my friends could find me more easy.

Thank you all for your support, without you I wouldn’t have lasted a year.

A ROSE FOR EVERYONE OF YOU

ROSE, UNKNOWN (not in my garden)

As you can see I haven’t much to show you for this month. As I told you before we have a really odd Summer this year with lots of rain and cold for the time of the year. Once in a while we have a nice sunny and warm day, sometimes 2 but that’s about it. Many of my flowers have rotted before they even could open. I go looking in my garden several times a day hoping there is a flower that is nice enough to take a picture of. I am not complaining, we didn’t have floods nor fire like many other parts in the world.

Take care and stay safe !
