SPRING

It is definitely Spring, the daffs are in full bloom and I see a lot of tiny buds on my bushes and trees. The weather is nice we’ve had temperatures between 15 C° and 18 C°, that is a bit too high for this time of year but I know we’ll get colder weather sooner or later. But I’ve been able to do some work in the garden but there is a lot to do so I’ll need a gardener for the heavy work, like pruning the heavier branches and trimming the hedges.

The first in bloom are my little daffs called Tete-à tete, a very easy daff, comes back year after year no matter what.

This is a bud of the euphorbia chariacias, an evegreen plant that grows to 1 meter high and 1 meter wide, soon this bud will open and show it’s yellow flowers. Once the flowers are finnished you cut the stems with the old flowers and new shoots are then comming from the plant near the soil and in no time it will be tall again.

This is an oldy, I planted it a long time ago and it blooms every year with big yellow flowers.

This little violet is always in my garden, it spreads it’s tiny seeds and the winds spreads it arround the garden.

Another vieuw of the little daff tete-à-tete.

Many of you have Spring weather, advanced or at the beginning of it. Enjoy !

Take care and enjoy your garden or balcony.

OH DEER !

No I did not make a mistake, it is deer, not dear.

I took this picture when we were in the arboretum a while ago, when I got home I was looking at the pictures I took there and I noticed this tree was special, there is a deer in this tree, can you spot him ??

If so, let me know ok ?

Take care !

SPRING HAS SPRUNG

With temperatures between 15 C° and 25C° nature is fully awake now. We went to the arboretum as our garden is a mess at the moment, and I took some pictures.

SPRING BLOSSOMS

Now that a lot of trees and bushes have blossoms it is really starting to look like Spring, at last !!

I don’t know what tree this is, some sort of prunus but I don’t know which one. This tree is in the garden of our local kindergarten which is right across of our house.

Same tree as above but more in close-up.

As we are having dry weather for a change the blossoms stay for a longer time.

And….. we have a patio !!!! After waiting for 16 (yes sixteen) months for it because it wasn’t dry enough to lay the tiles, if the concrete layer is wet the glue for the tiles do not stick. I’ll show a picture of it when the furniture and the plants are in place.

Have a great week and enjoy your garden or terrace !

THIS LOOKS LIKE SPRING !!!

It’s definitely looks like Spring now !!! It’s getting warmer slowly but surely.

I look forward to the rest of Spring .

Have great week, enjoy your garden or balcony and take care !

WE HAD SNOW TODAY !

A few days ago we had about 20 C°, today we have 0 C°and snow! Luckily it didn’t stay long as it wasn’t cold enough, so I took a few pictures in the garden early this morning, no sun, no blue sky alas.

The temperature is supposed to go up again slightly but nowhere near the 20 C° we had. You get so easily adjusted to eating outside, enjoying the sun, working in the garden…. it was too sonn but it felt sooo good !!

Have a great weekend !!

MAY PICTURES

I walked arround in our street with my camera to take a few shots of the lovely Spring flowers our neighbours have in their front yard.

I never saw this before so I was surprised and took a picture of it. I don’t know what tree this is.

MORE PRUNUS FLOWERS

I can’t believe it is almost mid May. The weather hasn’t been great so far, that is the reason everything started flowering later than usual. It was cold, windy and sunny when I took these pictures.

Today has been soft but we had sun, rain and wind but between the rain it was nice to be outside. I planted some veggies and herbs in the garden. I never have been this late with planting. But as we were told there won’t be nightfrosts anymore I could finally start planting.

Next time I’ll show you what is flowering in my garden.

Have a great week ! Keep safe, we are nearly there !!
