SILENT SUNDAY

about my garden, art and travelling, nature ,photography and a few words of wisdom

Yesterday was a nice day, dry for a change so we went to the arboretum to take a few pictures. Alas the rain and storms we had lately damaged a lot of flowers but I found some that were still beautiful.

I hope you are all ok. Take care and thanks for your visit !

Mind you, none of these were in my garden, they were all taken on holiday.
Have a great week all and enjoy your garden or balcony.

It is almost the end of May and it is still cold and very wet. Nature is very happy with all the rain ofcourse but flowers and blooms are way behind . Despite all that I do have some flowers in bloom in my garden.

We have a long weekend cos of Pentecost, so I guess many of you have a long weekend too. So have a great weekend all ! And enjoy the sun when she shines.
I walked arround in our street with my camera to take a few shots of the lovely Spring flowers our neighbours have in their front yard.

I never saw this before so I was surprised and took a picture of it. I don’t know what tree this is.

I can’t believe it is almost mid May. The weather hasn’t been great so far, that is the reason everything started flowering later than usual. It was cold, windy and sunny when I took these pictures.
Today has been soft but we had sun, rain and wind but between the rain it was nice to be outside. I planted some veggies and herbs in the garden. I never have been this late with planting. But as we were told there won’t be nightfrosts anymore I could finally start planting.
Next time I’ll show you what is flowering in my garden.
Have a great week ! Keep safe, we are nearly there !!

I love yellow flowers in the garden, they brighten the whole garden, even on days when the sun don’t shine.
April was cold and the forcast for the next 2 week isn’t much better, except for the rain that is comming. The garden can do with a lot of rain. But I am looking forward to nice warm days, soon I hope.

I have a LOT of appleblossom this year. I have 2 appletree’s, one had no flowers at all last year, they other one just a few, so no apples in the end. This year I am really hopeful. I’ll keep you posted and let you know how it is going as there is a lot that can go wrong. I did give them dried cow’s manure last year, maybe they needed it.
Have a great day and enjoy the sun if you have a sunny day.

When I was walking in my garden I found this little cute viola who selfseeded in a pot with succulents. I couldn’t resist to take a picture of it.
The weather is still too cold for the time of the year but when the sun is out and you find a place out of the cold wind, it is nice to sit in the garden with a cup of tea and look at all the work that still needs to be done….but it’s the little things like this viola that makes me happy as well.
