A PRESENT FROM THE BIRDS

When I was doing my round in the garden I suddenly saw a beautiful white flower between the leafs of my fig tree, when I did some further investigation I saw the top of a carrot and from there a long stem with a white flower and buds, I never sow carrots in the garden ( I do in the greenhouse but I use ribbons with seeds on) so these beautiful flower must be a present from the birds. Thank you birds ! I am going to sow a lot of carrot seeds in the garden now to have carrotflowers!!

WATER SOLDIER

Water soldier (STRATIOTES ALOIDES) is a fast growing, fast reproducing pond plant that helps keeping your pond water clean. This one has very sharp leaf edges but a pretty white flower.

WATER SOLDIER OR STATIOTES ALOIDES

After a period of heavy rain and thunder storms we finally are have a nice sunny day, not that I minded all the rain as we need every drop we can get. But my roses looked so pretty a while ago and now they are all rained out. And so are some of my other plants, but they’ll be beautiful again soon.

Have a great week you all !

IN BLOOM TODAY

I took some pictures today of the flowers in bloom in my garden. I think June is about the prettiest month of the year.

LOVE IS IN THE AIR

My Guirlande D’amour rose is in bloom and my whole garden smells of roses at the moment. Guirlande D’amour is a rambler rose, half double, snow white and has a lovely delicate smell. I have this rose in my garden for about 20 years now and she is beautifull when in bloom. I give it a cut in Autumn, just the longest branches and then in Spring it gets a good cut and a bit of dried cow manure, thats it. It keeps blooming till the frosts come, not as much as it blooms in June though.

GUIRLANDE D’AMOUR TODAY, RESTING ON A WOODEN BOW

You can’t see anything of the wooden bow as it is completely covered by the rose. This rose is also the favorite place for birds to make their nest in and for the bees of course, they just love it. And so do I.

Have a great day and thanks for your visit.
