AN OLDIE

I saw this lamp in a shop in the Netherlands and I loved it, alas it was late in the evening and the shop was closed. I love the colors, it always makes me happy looking at this picture.

GROWING HERBS IN THE GARDEN

Herbs are so easy to grow in the garden or even on a balcony, they do really well in a pot, most of the herbs go underground for Winter but they come back in Spring.

One of the earliest herbs is the wild garlic, you can use the leafs and the flowers in a salad. Once you have it in your garden it will come back every year. When the flowers set seed it will disappear soon after and they go underground until next year in early Spring. They selfseed so you’ll have more every year. They do like a moist soil and a place in the shade, but actually they grow everywhere I think.

CHIVES

This one is chives, also good to use in salads, it gets lovely little pink flowers later on. Also a good grower, in my garden it has a place in the sun and it grows like mad.

This herb has the prettiest blue flowers, you can use them in drinks or salads, they tast a bit like cucumber. People also use them in ice cubes. It is one of the easiest to grow, they too selfseed but they are easy to remove if you have too many of them.

I have more herbs in the garden but I’ll talk about them some other time. I love it when I can go to the garden and pluck them to add to a salad or others you can use in soup, or make tea of it.

You really don’t need a green thumb to grow a few herbs, you don’t even need to have a garden as they will also be happy on a balcony.

Have a great weekend all !

DECORATION

As there is nothing to see in the garden at the moment, well nothing much anyway, I took a picture inside my house to show you a bit of decoration. The color gold is popular here at the moment so I added a few gold colored items to my living room. This plate is one of them.

MY CRYSTAL BALL ON A GOLDEN PLATE, ALAS IT DOESN’T SHOW ME WHAT THE FUTURE HOLDS.

HAVE A GREAT WEEK !

INSTEAD OF A CHRISTMAS TREE

I haven’t had a Christmas three for years now. My husband doesn’t want a fake tree but I don’t want a real tree. I always feel so sorry for the three after Christmas. We can’t plant them in our garden so he goes to the recycling center where they make much from it. Poor thing !!!

SO THIS IS WHAT I DO EACH CHRISTMAS

Each year I buy a bit of new stuff so it looks different every year. On the picture above you can see how it looks this year.

A few close ups.

HAVE A GREAT CHRISTMAS ALL
