CHIVES IN BLOOM
As we had a soft Spring the herbs in the garden were early, so at the moment the chives is in bloom. From chives you can eat the leafs but also the flowers, they look pretty in a salad. But I prefer the flowers on the plant as they are in bloom for a long time and the bees love them, so in my garden the flowers are all for the bees.

EASY PLANT :GERANIUM
If you are looking for easy plants in your garden then think of the geranium family, also called crane’s bill’s.
I am talking about the garden geranium, not the pelargonium that a lot of people call geranium as well, the garden geranium is hardy, the pelargonium is not.
They come in all colours, hights and shapes, they tolerate all sorts of soil, sun or shade, they don’t care. You can have geraniums in bloom from Spring till end of Autumn. They also attract a lot of bees.They don’t disappear completely in Winter and that is a plus because then you know where they are. But they do selfseed, some more like others but personally I don’t care as they can be removed easily where you don’t want them.
I have taken pictures of the ones in bloom in my garden at the moment.

GERANIUM MACRORHIZUM CZAKOR: soft purple
This geranium macrorrhizum comes in many colours and is a good ground cover that blocks all weeds.
GERANIUM PHAEUM : dark purple
I have more geraniums in my garden but they are not in bloom yet, I’ll show them later.

Today I want to show you more pretty sights from Bruges, world famous for it’s handmade lace and visited by people from all over the world. When you walk arround in Bruges you hear so many different languages.
THEY HAVE LOTS OF TRUNCATED TREE’S
A PLATAN WITH NEW LEAFS AND OLD FRUITS, IT’S FRUITS ALWAYS REMIND ME OF LITTLE MEAT BALLS
THE BOAT TRIPS ARROUND THE CITY CENTER ARE ALWAYS VERY POPULAR AS YOU GET TO SEE BRUGES FROM ANOTHER SIDE, BECAUSE OF THIS BRUGES IS ALSO CALLED “VENICE OF THE NORTH”
HANDMADE LACE, FOR CENTURIES MADE IN BRUGES BY WOMEN, YOU CAN STILL LEARN HOW YOU CAN DO THIS BUT IT IS COMPLICATED !!
AND OFCOURSE FOOD AND DRINKS ARE VERY POPULAR IN BELGIUM, WAFFLES, CHOCOLATE AND BEER
AND OFCOURSE BELGIAN BEER
There is a shop in my village that sells over 1500 different sorts of beer, not only Belgian beer, but 1500 different beers; I think that is a LOT !! Mind you I don’t drink beer, I don’t like the taste of it.
WE ALSO VISITED THE BEGUINALE HOUSE IN BRUGES
There are no beguines anymore, their houses are rented out now.
BEGUINALE HOUSES, THEY ALL HAD A SMALL ROOM AND ALL THEY DID WAS PRAY, WORK, SLEEP….
WHEN THERE IS WATER YOU HAVE BIRDS.
AND IN SPRING YOU HAVE CHICKS
AND IN BEAUTIFUL PLACES YOU HAVE PAINTERS
AND ART EVERYWHERE , NEW
AND OLD
