Now that most of my flowers are burned, rotting or were blown away by the storm, I still enjoy the green leafs, some are even young and fresh cos of the rains we had a few weeks ago. Alas we don’t have all the Autumn colors you have in the US. Some shrubs give a nice red or yellow colour but most leafs go from green to brown.
All the wintergreens are good for the birds and other wildlife, they can hide in them for the rain and the cold, they sleep in them, they are covered in bugs so they have food as well close by.
I love my flowers but I love my greens as well.
