MY POOR GARDEN

My poor garden, burned to a crisp !!! We had such hot weather lately, up to 38 C°, and a lot of my plants are burned. And as we have a severe water shortage as well we can’t water the garden. It breaks my heart to look at it ! It looks like Autumn even though it is only the beginning of August !!

Have a great weekend.

  1. It’s sad to see this. All over Europe we are having such hot weather. It will be interesting to see how we all cope in Autumnwhen there is less food. Where I live, some farmers are having to cull their animals because they can’t feed them. So sad. I will do a very enthusiastic rain dance for you…and me….and for the farmers. Take care. Xx

    1. I’ll let you know when the raindance had effect !!It is a disaster for the farmers but also for everyone cos fruit and vedge will be a lot more expensive ! Today should be the last of the tropical days with temps of arround 38C°.

    1. We may not even use our own well water or river water, only the farmer may do that. Belgium is a tiny country with about 13.000.000 people and we are used to take water for granted as this is normal a cool and rainy country.

    1. It is hard but I learn from it, some plants do really well so I’ll have to use more drought resistant plants, on the other hand, nature is very unpredictable and may be next Summer will be cold and very wet ?? It’s a problem for all countries, some get floods, others get drought….

    1. Oh yes ! in Winter I fear the frost but it never has been so dry and hot for such a long time so the plants we have over here are not used to too cold and too hot and too dry, but I think it would be wise to replace the death plants/shrubs by others that are better in dry places as water is getting more and more expensive each year.
