My fridge broke down and died today, luckily there wasn’t much in it and all that was lost was some cheese which went to feed the birds. This made me ponder about our reliance on fridges and what things people often keep in the fridge that would be much better out of it, so here is a quick guide, I am sure you will think of lots of other things as well.

OnionsPlacing your onions inside your refrigerator will eventually end up turning them moldy and soft. Unpeeled onions should be kept out of plastic bags and fridge. One of the reasons for this is because unpeeled onions require and need air exposure for maximum life. If you have peeled an onion though, then you should keep it in the fridge, in a covered container.

    1. I think it is quite interesting, we just put everything in the fridge, and I know for a fact that tomatoes taste better if they are stored out of the fridge, and cheese and God knows what so it’s worth a try. Lots of food needs to be stored cool and dry but a fridge is cold and humid so…
